[Since breakfast, Minato has had some ideas. And some problems have formed in his original ideas. And generally, he's just been thinking. And avoiding the goddamn lava wall. But mostly thinking. He's come to at least a few conclusions.]

I was wondering if anyone in Cabin 6 could help me with something. I want to know some of the old stories of the gods. If we're going to meet them, we should know more than just their names. [And they should know if the gods have ever been defeated and if anyone has ever survived the gods deciding it was time for them to be killed just because they were kids of the powerful ones.]

Does anyone else know how to control the darkness? [That makes it seem like he's evil oh my god. He should've found a better way to say it.] It could be useful, after all.

[He's just trying to figure out what cards he might have in his hands if it does end up that the gods decide to murder them.]

We should get to know Manhattan. If things go wrong.

[No offense to Zeus and Poseidon kids, but these are the people he feels he has a moral obligation to keep not dead.

Minato has never been one for depending on deities to get things done. And he's not entirely comfortable with the idea that he has a dad who hasn't even bothered to do more than cause a blackout to greet him. But he is praying with all of his everything to his father right now that things don't go wrong. Yes, he knows the irony of praying to the God of the Underworld that he and his friends don't die.]

[So this is their leader in another world, huh? Yukari wouldn't have expected that just from looking at him. Then again, the rest of them look pretty average, too, so she's quickly learned that appearances are deceiving.

But it's the first time she's spoken to him since finding that out, and so she looks a bit awkward when she responds.] I think we should all try to stick together during the trip.

[To be fair he and Minako are super different. Yet somehow, they did the same things.]

A crowd draws attention. [Especially a crowd in bright orange shirts.] If someone comes looking for us, we'll be harder to find apart. [Also they get more EXP for defeating monsters.]

[She's not cabin 6. Hardly been there a day, surprise quick claim from a dad who's largely abandoned her for most of her life, until she challenged him to a fight. This is really the first she's heard of meeting him, and she's starting to regret that challenge a little, though she won't say that.]

And actually... I think I can control it, at least a little bit. I've figured out how to go invisible and make weapons out of shadows. What can you do?

I've got darkness powers, too. And I can control the earth. We can practice together with the darkness stuff...maybe we could cause a huge blackout and I could make a hole in the earth for us to hide in.

It could work for a while. [But how long could they stay underground? If the darkness could cover them at all, it would have to run very close to the time they were expected at the Empire State Building. Or they'd have to be in a tunnel and underground to begin with.]
