[Since breakfast, Minato has had some ideas. And some problems have formed in his original ideas. And generally, he's just been thinking. And avoiding the goddamn lava wall. But mostly thinking. He's come to at least a few conclusions.]

I was wondering if anyone in Cabin 6 could help me with something. I want to know some of the old stories of the gods. If we're going to meet them, we should know more than just their names. [And they should know if the gods have ever been defeated and if anyone has ever survived the gods deciding it was time for them to be killed just because they were kids of the powerful ones.]

[Another moment.]

Does anyone else know how to control the darkness? [That makes it seem like he's evil oh my god. He should've found a better way to say it.] It could be useful, after all.

[He's just trying to figure out what cards he might have in his hands if it does end up that the gods decide to murder them.]

We should get to know Manhattan. If things go wrong.

[No offense to Zeus and Poseidon kids, but these are the people he feels he has a moral obligation to keep not dead.

Minato has never been one for depending on deities to get things done. And he's not entirely comfortable with the idea that he has a dad who hasn't even bothered to do more than cause a blackout to greet him. But he is praying with all of his everything to his father right now that things don't go wrong. Yes, he knows the irony of praying to the God of the Underworld that he and his friends don't die.]

[Yeah Minato noted it. His original plans were "whelp how do we get out of camp on solstice." He doesn't know how he can plan to get off a giant friggin' mountain.]

He'll keep Ken safe. He has to be safe to do it. [He's thought about the girls and he isn't... comfortable giving orders about them.]

We'll keep our distance from the girls. The gods are worried about us... they'll be safe. [He really, really hopes.]

...Yeah. Ken is still... [No, it isn't his place to reveal Ken's current mental state on the issue.] Never mind. As long as both of them are all right.

None of them should be affected. [He really, really hopes.] ...But I can talk to Minako and Mitsuru about it.

What you asked, about the darkness - is that one of your new abilities?

[So says the Zeus kid. Minato is very firmly attached to the ground.]

He won't do anything. [Because Minato trusts him. Minato trusts him to do the right thing and not kill Shinjiro. He knows he can trust him because he's fought alongside him for months.]

Aigis will want to know, too. And Yukari and Fuuka. [A beat.] Ryoji. [Not a girl, but as not involved as the girls. Ryoji is not manly enough to be in danger.]

[He hasn't discovered that ability yet. But if he could figure out how to help other people fly, that might be helpful.

Akihiko nods - he trusts Ken too, in that regard. Their conversation in the alley is the last thing he remembers from their world.] I know. I'm not worried about that.

Of course. If they don't see your message, we can arrange a meeting. [He sighs softly.] We need to make sure they don't do anything rash. We don't want them to get involved any deeper.

I see. [On reflex, he tugs his glove on tighter, and flexes out his fingers.] I'll try to figure out if I have any other abilities. I have electrical attacks, and... some kind of control over fog. Maybe more.

You and Ken. [He heard Ken electrocuted Shinji when they first met.]

We all have something useful.

[He nods again.] Yes.

Well... if we end up needing to use them, then we'd better kick our training up a few notches. [Oddly enough, he seems excited by this prospect.]

They're worried about us causing wars. If we fight, we'll only prove them right.

So if they come for us, then we submit and go quietly. Is that it?

I'm not suggesting that we start fights spontaneously, for no reason. But if they do decide to end things, then we shouldn't resist?

I didn't say that. [He did not say that at all.]

If they come for us, we have a plan. An escape route. We learn Manhattan, we find somewhere to hide. We do as little damage as possible. And when they find us, we prove they were wrong about us being dangerous.

I'm not letting my team die because we act without thinking.

[He nods.] I see.

Honestly, I don't think they would allow us to escape. Even though we were given strict rules to obey, they must have some kinda back-up plan, in case we decide to defy them.

But let's give it a shot, and see how things turn out.

[And then, musing out loud...] This might be a test.

Can't hurt to try. [Defying gods is p. much what SEES does. Just have to change your strategy up once in a while.]

[We are all going to die.]

Right. And if that doesn't work, then we fight.
