[Since breakfast, Minato has had some ideas. And some problems have formed in his original ideas. And generally, he's just been thinking. And avoiding the goddamn lava wall. But mostly thinking. He's come to at least a few conclusions.]

I was wondering if anyone in Cabin 6 could help me with something. I want to know some of the old stories of the gods. If we're going to meet them, we should know more than just their names. [And they should know if the gods have ever been defeated and if anyone has ever survived the gods deciding it was time for them to be killed just because they were kids of the powerful ones.]

[Another moment.]

Does anyone else know how to control the darkness? [That makes it seem like he's evil oh my god. He should've found a better way to say it.] It could be useful, after all.

[He's just trying to figure out what cards he might have in his hands if it does end up that the gods decide to murder them.]

Minato has never been one for depending on deities to get things done. And he's not entirely comfortable with the idea that he has a dad who hasn't even bothered to do more than cause a blackout to greet him. But he is praying with all of his everything to his father right now that things don't go wrong. Yes, he knows the irony of praying to the God of the Underworld that he and his friends don't die.]

[Minako's lips pulled into a thin frown.]

I know, but...[She really has no argument, and she knows she'd do the exact same thing in his position.] So you'll take care of Akihiko-senpai as well, won't you?

Sanada-san? [Minato's a little surprised she has to ask.]

He's my senpai, too.

[That's true, she reminds herself. She'd let her feelings speak out of turn...no matter. As long as she was sure...

She smiles, a visible wave of relief softening the worry weighing on her face.]

Yeah. That's right. [She repeats it with greater conviction.] That's right!

[And then another worry crawls up inside of him.]

... You'll look out for Aigis? [He really didn't think he'd ever have to ask that. If things were the same for them, he'd kind of assumed Minako would just take care of Aigis if he couldn't but if she's worried about Akihiko, should be be worried about the two people he'd have to leave behind from his timeline?]

[Minako laughs, giving him an enthusiastic thumbs up.]

Like that was even up for debate!

[Akihiko's a...'special' case.]

I could always tell her to keep an eye on Ryoji-kun for you. [That's definitely dryness in her voice you hear, followed by a laugh.] It might keep her busy enough to not chase after you.

[Hello, juniors. Your senpai is here, totally not stalking your conversation.

Akihiko slips on his usual cool persona to hide however he might really be feeling, and interjects in a calm tone.] You guys don't need to take care of me. I'll be fine.

But if something happens to any of you, you'd better call us immediately. Got it? Don't try to take it all on by yourself. That goes for both of you.

[Dude, senpai. Worry about your own hide. Minako and Minato have this dying-thing handled, right? ...right..?!]

I don't plan on drawing any attention! [She places both her hands over her head and ducks, grinning.] I'll blend right in, you'll see!
