A smallish pale girl appears on the system, moving around somewhat frantically near the various cabins with a look that is 1 part confusion, 1 part anxiety, and 4 parts annoyance and 4 parts whatever that look Mr. Scott had when Captain Kirk told him to rewrite the laws of physics in 15 minutes.

"Um, look. I'm sure whatever is going on is really important here but I was kind of in the middle of something back home. Something involving restoring a destroyed planetary power system before life support on something completely fails and given how I only sort of LOOKED at it for about a minute and most of the best parts are under the sea I really don't have a lot of time for this right now. After I get it up sure, bring me and MY SEIBZEHN here and we'll step on ANYTHING you want but you just brought me and I'm not so useful for squishing things alone."

"I understand you want to make it personal by saying my dad is one of the people here but I do kind of know my family, even if we were separated most of my life. Really, just let me finish my project and just ask, home will probably be unbearably dull once I get the Zohar reactor working again anyways so it'll be a welcome diversion."

Her face turns a bit more irritated at the next part.

"Unless this is some sort of gag Mr. One Eyed Pirate King! I know you're the one who bonked me over the head and drug me out before I could get a better look at that system to get it back online despite the city crashing. Don't think for one minute that if this is some sort of gag and I find you behind it I won't BEAT THE EVER-LOVING SNOT OUT OF YOUR ONE REMAINING GOOD EYE!"

Later Maria is sitting by the water looking miserable. She's playing with her watch, pushing every damn button on the thing.

"Yeah yeah... No carrier. Seibzehn, I know you have to have power. Please come in. Dad had to have put in his own reactor or something. C'mon, you can't do this to me! You always come. Maybe some sort of jamming I need to figure out how to defeat. Oh who are you kidding Balthasar, the power grid is down and you're some place weird."

She buries her head in her knees and keeps pressing the button getting lower with every non-receptive beep she gets.

Akihiko interjects in an even tone, hoping to calm her down a little.] Hey there. Look, I get where you’re coming from, but you’ll have to trust in your friends back home, for the time being. The gods aren’t gonna send us back till we’ve done what they want.

[Actually, there’s no guarantee in that either, but he’s going to be optimistic about this!]

You haven’t been claimed yet, right? There are a lot of people in Cabin 11 that don’t know who their gods are either. Why don’t you go meet up with them first?

"My friends back home aren't good with technical things! Oh sure, maybe they can punch a generator into existence! They don't even know how to build a nuclear reactor, let alone something powerful enough to keep a gate generator going."

She lets out a breath.

"Well technically even I don't know how to do that but I don't know how long my Seibzehn can last without me and...."

"Seibzehn. With an 'eh' in the beginning. Its Solaran for 17. Oh good grief I hope those guys aren't here. As for a purpose, no one has told me what it was! Just some trumped up lie about my dad being some god or something and this being for my own good!"

She lets out a breath and adjusts her goggles a bit.

"Seibzehn is my gear. The only one of his class. Stronger than even the Omnigears. My dad made him for me when I was 5."

Tieria was out exploring the camp in general. Books and reading would only provide so much information, after all, so now it was time to see things firsthand. He heard a voice as he approached the beach area on the north end of the camp. He watched for a moment as the girl tried talking into her watch. Clearly, from her actions, it was a communicator of some kind and it wasn't working.

He came over.

"Who are you trying to contact?" he asked.

"Its the recall beacon for my Seibzehn. But given the broken generators I guess it was a long shot."

"Electronics do not seem to work here." From what he'd been able to learn anyway. Though, her statement was intriguing. "What is a Seibzehn?" And he pronounced that pretty close to perfect if not for a slightly strange, but bland accent that indicated he spoke a lot of different languages.

"Seibzehn is my gear. Um... Right... Lambs. Big robot thing I ride on and fight with. As for electronics not working, why the hell did they bring me then?"

[It's the 'Mr. One Eyed Pirate King' comment that catches his attention for...probably obvious reasons once she gets a good look at him. Worick finds himself just amused enough to respond.]

Hold on there a moment, darling. This isn't some elaborate joke being played on you. Although I'm sure we all wish it was otherwise.

Ryoji is wandering back from the mess hall when he spots Maria. Maybe at first, he was considering flirting with her, but seeing how forlorn she looks the more she speaks to herself, he decides against it. Sure, he enjoyed complimenting cute girls, but comforting them was far more important.

He kneels down next to her, hesitantly resting a hand on her shoulder.

"Excuse me... Are you alright?"

"I just need to get in contact with my Seibzehn. I know he can't come but if I can get a carrier signal then I at least know where I am and can find a way to get back to work!"

[Blondie is coming back from the range (she's always coming back from the range) when she spots Maria, and takes a detour.

She peers over her shoulder a moment, not meaning to spy.]

I don't think you can connect. If you do, you really ought not to send out any transmissions. They'll attract monsters.

"It just calls my gear, and he probably doesn't have the power to come. I just want a locator signal. Then I can figure out what to do next. Hate wasting power like this. Don't know how much time he has left."

She pushes another button, the small antennae on it retracting.

"RIGHT! Who's shins do I have to kick to get that to happen?"

On a stroll around camp (alright, he was on the way to see the horses they have here), he noticed that a small girl was down. He skidded to a halt, and peeked down at her as he let go of the strand of hair he was pulling at as a way to calm his need for nicotine.

"Hey, little missus, ya alright?"

"I dunno. Kidnapped to a strange world where everything that I do doesn't exist RIGHT when I was needed to fix things back home?"

She sighs and pushes the button on her watch again.

"All things considered, no."

"Ah, yeah, that." He drops down on the ground beside her. "It's happened t'me twice now. Though last time, I had Kid along with me."

He peers curiously at her watch.

"But that's one funny-lookin' watch ya've." To get used to things, one way is by talking about different things, right...?
