[There's a new face appearing across the camp necklaces today. She's sitting on a patch of grass somewhere between cabins 5 and 6 - the paint on both of them is just visible in the background - and she is not happy. The redhead's features are really quite cute, but...]
What the hell is this nonsense? I'm needed in America, in Olympus, because one of my parents is actually some god or goddess that hasn't bothered to show their face my entire life?
That's the most stupid thing I've ever heard! I'm needed back in Japan! There are still two days of fighting Septentriones left! The world's going to end if I'm not back there fighting, and some idiot little girl tells me I had to be yanked out of that fight to come here instead? How stupid is that?! My team needs me, you idiot!
[Her yelling isn't.
Airi shakes with anger, and those might be tears forming at the corner of her eyes.]
And - whoever the hell my 'mom' or 'dad' is, you sure as hell did a bang-up job. You left us in the lurch even before this. Like I'm supposed to accept it, especially when you pulled me out of a fight! I kicked that Indian god Kama's ass after he disrespected me, and, I'll kick yours too! You better show me who you are so I know who I have to go after!
[...she really did kick Kama's ass. Only she had backup, when she did that, and Kama had kind of been weakened already. She's not mentioning those parts.
Also, nobody's told her exactly how dangerous it is to challenge one of the Greek gods or goddesses.
Still. Somewhere up there, her dad is laughing. There's no sound, but suddenly there's a clear picture of a boar floating right in front of her.]
Eh? What the -- hey, I've seen this...
[And she whips her head around. Claim and connection, made.]
...my dad's the war god?!
[And she cuts the connection really fast.]
action;
[A little later, after some of the shock has worn off and after she's put her things away in cabin 5, Airi's wandered down to the training arena to blow off some steam. She's found a sword and some armor, and is currently taking out her frustration on a practice dummy. It might be best to approach with a bit of caution, but she's trying her best not to take a living person's head off.]

[Holy shit. Akihiko isn’t fazed by the volume of her yelling, but she seems pretty pissed off.]
Uh… [He’s not sure if he can say anything that would calm her down… and he’d really rather not make things worse…] Are you gonna be okay?
no subject
...no! I'm not gonna be okay. Those idiots at home are gonna go off and get themselves killed while I'm stuck here! I'm - this is so stupid!
no subject
Akihiko smiles a little, trying to be reassuring.] You need to have faith in them. We all wanna leave here and go back home, but we need to fulfill our purpose first. You’ve been claimed already, so why not check out your new cabin? If you have any questions, just let us know. We’ll do our best to answer them.
no subject
[She sighs.]
Yeah. I guess there's not much else I can do from here, given that getting home won't be so easy.

no subject
[Another sigh.]
Mm. I guess it's better to send the thought that I'll still be watching their backs from here. They always had mine covered.
no subject
[He smiles encouragingly.] That’s the spirit! And hey, you’ll go back to them, after you’re done here. Just keep your eye on the goal, and don’t let anything hold you back.
no subject
[Airi lets out a little frustrated sigh.]
But you're right. I have to trust them, in the meantime, and I know I've got their backs - and they've still got mine. You have to, if you're gonna take down big stuff like that and not get killed doing it.
[And she finally grins.]
Yeah! I like how you think - keep your eye on the goal, don't hold back, then nothing in the world can stop you, right?
Right - I'm Airi Ban. Nice to meet you!
no subject
[His smile turns into a smirk of confidence right then. He hasn’t lost all of his boyish charm just yet!]
Heh, that’s how we fight! There’s no sense in staking your life on the line for something that you don’t wanna achieve with every fiber of your being! [He raises a fist for emphasis.]
I’m Akihiko Sanada. It’s nice to meet ya too, Airi. [She seems younger than him, so hopefully she wouldn’t mind if he calls her by her first name? Even though they’re not that familiar.]
no subject
[...no, he definitely hasn't. She has to look away from that smirk of Akihiko's for a second and try - and fail, for the most part - to resist the urge to blush. Airi really hopes it comes off as more 'redheads in the sun are prone to getting sunburns' than blushing. What the hell is wrong with her? She knows what flirting looks like, and this isn't flirting, but it's still really attractive.]
Now you're talking! I mean, what's the use of half-assing -- ahahahaha, sorry, I didn't mean to curse! -- a fight like that? You can't do something like that, not at all!
[If this was in person? There would be a fist-bump happening.]
Likewise, Akihiko-san! [She definitely doesn't mind - though she's adding the honorific. It's okay if he uses her first name, though.]
no subject
See? That’s all it takes! You sound pretty confident in them. You guys are close, huh?
[And of course, this idiot has no idea what effect he has on women. Just wait until he says something that really makes her blush…]
Tch, like I’d really give a damn if you do. [Seriously, he’s not shy about swearing. Not even in front of girls. Sigh he’s like a caveman in some ways…
He tilts his head a bit and gives Airi a winning smile.] It’s good to have someone like you here at this camp. We need to motivate everyone else to be more positive. I think someone with your energy and attitude could get them all riled up.
