[There's a new face appearing across the camp necklaces today. She's sitting on a patch of grass somewhere between cabins 5 and 6 - the paint on both of them is just visible in the background - and she is not happy. The redhead's features are really quite cute, but...]
What the hell is this nonsense? I'm needed in America, in Olympus, because one of my parents is actually some god or goddess that hasn't bothered to show their face my entire life?
That's the most stupid thing I've ever heard! I'm needed back in Japan! There are still two days of fighting Septentriones left! The world's going to end if I'm not back there fighting, and some idiot little girl tells me I had to be yanked out of that fight to come here instead? How stupid is that?! My team needs me, you idiot!
[Her yelling isn't.
Airi shakes with anger, and those might be tears forming at the corner of her eyes.]
And - whoever the hell my 'mom' or 'dad' is, you sure as hell did a bang-up job. You left us in the lurch even before this. Like I'm supposed to accept it, especially when you pulled me out of a fight! I kicked that Indian god Kama's ass after he disrespected me, and, I'll kick yours too! You better show me who you are so I know who I have to go after!
[...she really did kick Kama's ass. Only she had backup, when she did that, and Kama had kind of been weakened already. She's not mentioning those parts.
Also, nobody's told her exactly how dangerous it is to challenge one of the Greek gods or goddesses.
Still. Somewhere up there, her dad is laughing. There's no sound, but suddenly there's a clear picture of a boar floating right in front of her.]
Eh? What the -- hey, I've seen this...
[And she whips her head around. Claim and connection, made.]
...my dad's the war god?!
[And she cuts the connection really fast.]
action;
[A little later, after some of the shock has worn off and after she's put her things away in cabin 5, Airi's wandered down to the training arena to blow off some steam. She's found a sword and some armor, and is currently taking out her frustration on a practice dummy. It might be best to approach with a bit of caution, but she's trying her best not to take a living person's head off.]

[She strikes at it a few more times, then finally gives up.]
- It's stupid. If I'm the daughter of the war god, and there's a fight going on at home that I can help with, why am I here?
no subject
[Akane tilted her head a little and sighed.] To be honest, I'm worried my own team won't get on without me. True we just finished our own battles but I get where you're coming from.
no subject
[She turns and gives that dummy a punch. Sorry, Akane. She's doing her best.]
- I wanted to help everyone else win the big fight. Because -
[Because she cares about them.]
- because those idiots wouldn't make it without me!

[Holy shit. Akihiko isn’t fazed by the volume of her yelling, but she seems pretty pissed off.]
Uh… [He’s not sure if he can say anything that would calm her down… and he’d really rather not make things worse…] Are you gonna be okay?
no subject
...no! I'm not gonna be okay. Those idiots at home are gonna go off and get themselves killed while I'm stuck here! I'm - this is so stupid!
no subject
Akihiko smiles a little, trying to be reassuring.] You need to have faith in them. We all wanna leave here and go back home, but we need to fulfill our purpose first. You’ve been claimed already, so why not check out your new cabin? If you have any questions, just let us know. We’ll do our best to answer them.

[She sighs.]
Yeah. I guess there's not much else I can do from here, given that getting home won't be so easy.

Good job. I'm sure you'll do great making friends here.

[...but that hurt.]
I don't - just shut up! Like you know anything.

*Yeah, still mocking, and the mean kind.*
If you think everyone that makes fun of you knows nothing you're dumber than you're acting right now.

[Except Hinako wouldn't have been mean about it. Not intentionally.]

If you're worried about not being there, it's likely that time won't pass where we come from while we're gone.

[There are tears at the corners of Airi's eyes.]
...sorry. I just - I'm frustrated. I don't want to be sitting here when there's something I know I have to do at home.
Thanks. I'm Airi.

I've experienced similar situations before, and time has stopped for me. I'm sure you'll be back and able to do what you needed to do, Airi-san. I'm sure everything will be all right.
no subject
[...Airi, please. Turn down the tsun.]
...sorry. I'm just worried. 'End of the world' tends to mean 'you're kind of needed there'.

Yeah, that's Ares' symbol. Sorry, but I guess he liked your fiery personality.
video;
...hey, what's that smile all about? 'Fiery personality'?
[tsuntsuntsun.]
video;
[Yep, he's still smiling. The tsun just makes you more adorable, Airi.]
You know, you're one of the people who takes everything as an insult and always loses their temper. Thankfully, you're one of the ones that looks cute when they're angry.
video;
[...maybe her dad actually was watching out for her when she was doing all that fighting. Maybe it's why she could be as strong as she was.
But she doesn't really know if she likes that. She wanted to think she was strong on her own merits and not need some god making sure she was strong enough to do it.]
Anyway, enough about all of that! What do you mean, I'm cute when I'm angry?!

Action
She frowned, looking over at the other girl. ]
I saw that earlier, you know. Probably not the best god to pick a fight with.
no subject
I - I kinda cut the feed and ran down here when I realized I'd been the idiot there. Because I figured it probably wouldn't be as easy as it had been the first time. Even if I did beat up Kama. I wasn't kidding about that part. I just didn't mention the part where he was kind of weakened already.
[There's a sheepish laugh.]
Nice footwork.

[ Umi leans against another practice dummy. ]
And that's not entirely a bad thing. [ She nods. Don't take any offense. Please? ]
Me, I've been fencing for years, so I'm trying to get used to how heavy some of the gear they gave us is.
no subject
You could use a little lighter gear, I think, and still be okay. If you fence, you don't want to be weighed down too much - I mean, you're used to heavy padding and all that, I'm sure, but it's different from metal armor. You still want to be able to move.
I didn't introduce myself properly - Airi Ban.

You kicked a God's ass?
[ Never mind that the so called "big bad"'s general in the world he had been imported from might be Jesus. ]
That's fuckin' cool.
