irismessaging | 2nd Shadow/4th Punch [accidental voice]

[There's silence for a few moments on the other end aside from a few rustling sounds, but Ryoji's voice is eventually heard, whispering harshly. He's clearly panicked about something, though without video, what has him so worried remains unknown.]

Minako-chan? Are you there? I know you know Akihiko-sempai well, so d-do you know how to calm him down? I had no idea he could be so rough-

[A deep voice abruptly cuts him off.] C’mon, Ryoji. Quit messing around. After you get it down your throat the first time, you’ll get used to the taste!

[There's the sound of footsteps-not Ryoji's own, based on the way he gasps in surprise and... is he whimpering?-and then more shuffling as Ryoji attempts to end the transmission. He hopes Minako got the message... it was private, right?

Of course, Ryoji doesn't manage to stop recording, and the whole camp can now hear what he and the other person are up to.

Akihiko can be heard sighing.] Hey, don’t look at me like that… I’m not gonna chase you around the whole damn camp, you know.

[He pauses for a moment.] Okay, I got it. Get down on your knees, and open your mouth. You can close your eyes too, if you want. I’ll take care of the rest.

Um... o-okay... just be careful.

[There's some more rustling sounds and footsteps, and then moments later, the rustling sounds quicken as Ryoji moves about. Something is in his mouth, and he's making muffled pleas in amongst his choking. He swallows part of it down, and then makes a breathless plea.]

S-Sempai, please-

H-Hold still, Ryoji… Trust me, you need this… Keep telling yourself that, and don’t spit it out.

[Akihiko's words seem to stop Ryoji's struggling, and he only chokes for a moment before he can be heard swallowing and gasping for air. He coughs a few times, and his voice sounds shaky.]

That tasted awful...

[Akihiko exhales in relief, sounding pleased as he encourages the junior.] You did it. Good job. And don’t worry; you should stop feeling sore in a few hours. Just be sure to take a hot shower when you get back to your cabin.

[It's at this point that Iris finally feels sorry for the traumatized campers listening in and ends the message.]

Akihiko’s left the area by this point, but he hears the sudden inquiry, and turns his attention back to the post.] No… I think it was an accident. Sorry if it bothered you.

[Just please don’t ask if he was trying to kill Ryoji.]

[ Sure about that? ]

Oh, it... didn't bother me much, no.

[He quirks a brow in disbelief.]

Really? Hell, it seemed to have bothered everyone else.

Totally fine and unbothered. Maybe everyone else is weird.

[ Well, yes, but that's beside the point. ]

[Okay, that last line gets a small smile out of him.]

No, I’m usually the one that’s weird. At least, that’s what most people tell me.

Anyway, I guess I’ll have to revise his training regime. Like, change it to something that doesn’t imply murder. [All said in a forced lighthearted tone.]

So the raw egg thing is kinda weird, yeah, that's probably a little hardcore.

[ Just cook the egg like a civilized human GOSH. ]

It’s a pretty common delicacy in Japan… but I know not everyone’s from there.

[He shrugs a little.] It’s not like I could cook it myself. We don’t have access to a kitchen.

...is it really? Tell me that's the actual reason you're doing this.

[ She's Japanese her household cooks their eggs tyvm. ]

Well, there's sukiyaki and tamago... Those are popular dishes.

[He shakes his head.] It was for the protein. There aren't any sources of potent protein here, so we had to improvise.

Sukiyaki's hot, and you're just... like... it's like an egg wash, not sucking down whole eggs. There has to be a better way, just build a fire and heat a rock up or something.

Yeah, but the egg’s still raw.

…I think there’s a better chance of Ryoji getting sick from that than eating a raw egg. Who knows what’s in the dirt around here? He might even ingest a bug or something.

[Akihiko are you seriously arguing about this]

...wash the rock? I don't know, I've never had to feed myself in the wilderness.

Hmm… I guess.

[He pauses thoughtfully.]

If we can get access to a kitchen, I could try cooking something… Heh, I’ll just make Shinji teach me more recipes.

Ask Chiron, I guess. If there's a god of cooking somewhere they should have a kitchen for those kids.

All right, I'll keep that in mind. In the meantime, we'll have the stuff in the dining hall to contend with. [He's not very fond of the food choices, but eh.]

Eh, the food could be worse, right? [ They have to feed them half-decent food if they're trying to make them into warriors, she's sure of it. ]

[He smirks a little.] Yeah. Hell, a lot of things could be worse, but we have to make the best of it.

[And if he’s really gonna die next week, there are things he still needs to do, before that final end.]

By the way, you should learn how to survive in the wilderness. You never know, they might decide to dump us in the forest one day, to fend for ourselves. All the training’s meant to make us stronger.

Yeah, but I don't even know where to start, unless someone else here has that kind of experience.

Really? [He quirks a brow at her.] Well, I can teach you some of the basics, if you wanna know. It won’t exactly be comfortable, but you just need to survive till you can reach some kinda civilization, or wait for a rescue.

The last time I was in the wilderness I had a magical puffball providing food. [ Also, it was God. Also, it was annoying. ]

Just enough to survive is plenty for me, I'm never going to be an expert at it.

[Blank stare.] A… magical puffball…? Uh… I don’t think you’ll find one of those here… It might be convenient, though.

All right. Stop by Cabin 1 tomorrow, and I’ll have some info ready for ya.
