2nd Shadow/4th Punch [accidental voice]

[There's silence for a few moments on the other end aside from a few rustling sounds, but Ryoji's voice is eventually heard, whispering harshly. He's clearly panicked about something, though without video, what has him so worried remains unknown.]

Minako-chan? Are you there? I know you know Akihiko-sempai well, so d-do you know how to calm him down? I had no idea he could be so rough-

[A deep voice abruptly cuts him off.]  C’mon, Ryoji. Quit messing around. After you get it down your throat the first time, you’ll get used to the taste!

[There's the sound of footsteps-not Ryoji's own, based on the way he gasps in surprise and... is he whimpering?-and then more shuffling as Ryoji attempts to end the transmission. He hopes Minako got the message... it was private, right?

Of course, Ryoji doesn't manage to stop recording, and the whole camp can now hear what he and the other person are up to.

Akihiko can be heard sighing.]  Hey, don’t look at me like that…  I’m not gonna chase you around the whole damn camp, you know.

[He pauses for a moment.]  Okay, I got it. Get down on your knees, and open your mouth.  You can close your eyes too, if you want.  I’ll take care of the rest.

Um... o-okay... just be careful.

[There's some more rustling sounds and footsteps, and then moments later, the rustling sounds quicken as Ryoji moves about. Something is in his mouth, and he's making muffled pleas in amongst his choking. He swallows part of it down, and then makes a breathless plea.]

S-Sempai, please-

H-Hold still, Ryoji…  Trust me, you need this…  Keep telling yourself that, and don’t spit it out.

[Akihiko's words seem to stop Ryoji's struggling, and he only chokes for a moment before he can be heard swallowing and gasping for air. He coughs a few times, and his voice sounds shaky.]

That tasted awful...

[Akihiko exhales in relief, sounding pleased as he encourages the junior.] You did it.  Good job. And don’t worry; you should stop feeling sore in a few hours.  Just be sure to take a hot shower when you get back to your cabin.

[It's at this point that Iris finally feels sorry for the traumatized campers listening in and ends the message.]

((Akihiko and Ryoji will both be responding to any tags. Not to worry guys, they didn't actually do anything terrible.))

Yeah, of course. [He nods in agreement.] It’d help if we knew exactly what we were up against. We can hone our new abilities, but they’re only effective if we figure out how to adjust them to match our enemies’ weaknesses.

Cabin 6. Athena is the goddess of strategy. They might have powers that can help.

Athena… [He’s talked to a couple of people from that cabin. They’ll have to discuss strategy next time. He’s kind of surprised Mitsuru wasn’t claimed by that goddess, considering her own fortitude.] All right, I’ll keep that in mind. Thanks.

[He hesitates briefly, and then asks.] By the way, is everything okay? With all the, uh… time distortion stuff.

[He nods, flashing a thumbs up and his expression only fades half a second before he blinks.]

Everything's fine.

[Except not really because what's gonna happen when Ken finds out? And how are the girls taking it? Akihiko seems pretty casual, that's nice, but he is undeniably a little anxious.]

[He remembers what he told Ken and echoes the same sentiments.] There’s gonna be an adjustment period, but… don’t worry. It’ll work out. We’ll just have to get to know each other again, right? [He offers Minato a friendly smile. He’s trying to be positive here, despite having found out some startlingly revelations recently.]

Of course. [And then there's a pause.]

... Minako and I are very different. [The implication there is strong. Don't ever expect him to stop being sleepy and deadpan. If you expect it, it won't happen. Which isn't to say he never gets emotional, but he's not... Her. He's not like her at all so he hopes Aki can deal with someone cooler and calmer without comparing his actions to her bubbly excitability.]

Heh, I know. [He responds with ease.] You two are different people, after all. Is that supposed to matter?

[You're talking to the cool and calm senior himself, Minato! Except when things like this happen. They can be the voice of reason when everyone else is freaking out.]

[He's seen your secret video, Akihiko. Do not even try to play cool and calm.

Still he knows a lot of things and it might be weird for anyone else to realize he knows them.]

Not really.

[oh god he would be so embarrassed if he knew]

We don’t have to rush things. Just let it happen and see where it goes.

[He turns to the side when he hears Ryoji whimpering about something. He sighs.] Sheesh… You’d think I punched him in the groin or something. Maybe I’d better leave him alone. Can you keep talking to him for a bit, Minato? He looks up to you.

[He blinks. Looks up is probably not the proper term for how Ryoji feels about him. It's a lot more complicated, and he doesn't even know that Akihiko knows what's up between them. He shakes his head.]

He's stronger than you give him credit for. We have a history. [But he's not going to stop talking to him. At this point, he doubts he can. They started talking about girls.] I'll cheer him up.

[emperor_with_no_groove]

[Akihiko smiles a bit wryly.] Honestly? If I though he couldn’t handle it, then I wouldn’t have agreed to train him. I don’t like wasting time.

[He holds Minato’s gaze for a moment as he replies.] Yeah. I know.

[But then that moment passes, and he’s back to looking spirited.] Thanks. I’ll catch up with you guys later. Take care.
