[The first shot of Fuuka that Iris transmits is of her in a posture that her friends from home might recognize; eyes closed, head down, with her hand curled around the necklace she'd been given when she arrived, she looks pretty much exactly as she does when she's concentrating within the protective confines of Juno-- except for the jeans and orange shirt (which is doing wonders for her coloration). But it doesn't last long; she opens her eyes and while there's clarity there, there's also a certain anxiety. There's a lot she's confused about-- not the least of which is what this place itself is, even though there's been some explanation to her already. To have been plucked from her home and planted here in New York is a major adjustment, and she's a little off-kilter because of it.
But she's putting on a brave face here, sitting on her bedroll in a corner of Cabin 11. It's not home-- it's not comfortable like the Iwatodai dorms were, or even tolerable like her parents'-- no, they weren't her parents, were they? They'd never been her real parents. Really, that was something of a relief-- but also a mixed feeling of sadness and hurt. She'd never been enough for them.
But that didn't matter anymore. She'd just have to make herself enough for the true parent she had.]
I... I should say hello, I think. My name is Fuuka Yamagishi, and I'll be in your care-- well, we'll all be in one another's care-- [She flushes, a little awkwardly. When she resumes, her voice is small again.] Anyway, I'm... glad to be here. In a way. And I'll do my best to be of help, so...
[She drops her head again, bowing a bit formally.]
It's a pleasure. Please take good care of me.

video;
This is a camp, right? Is there some kind of dining hall, or...? I have a lot of questions to ask, but we could talk over lunch or dinner or... um, something.
[Because she doesn't mind these things, but she'd rather see Minako-chan in person. Just to be sure.]
video;
[You sure you have the stomach for both eating and deep conversations, Fuuka? Well, Minako figures you've got to have a strong stomach, considering...]
I can take you over, if you like!
video;
[Really, she just wants to spend a little time with a friend she'd thought she wouldn't see for a long time, and also she hadn't had anything to eat before she'd come here. It was killing two birds with one stone, and Minako had this way of making even a cafeteria meal into something more entertaining. She'd probably also made a number of friends, and this was a good way to see about who else was there with them, at this camp.]
From what I can see, this place is beautiful... but it feels so strange. Nothing here's like Japan, is it? All the trees are different, and so are the flowers.
[She's avoiding the elephant in the room right now, though: the fact that their parents weren't their parents.]
video; --> action;
[She somehow doubts it.]
Hang tight, ok? I'll be right there. Think about what you'd like to eat in the meantime!
[Better for Fuuka to build up an appetite so they're not spending the whole time talking about...well, things Minako would rather not think about at the moment. It doesn't take long for Minako to find her way back to Cabin 11, and enters, not bothering to knock.]
Fuuka-chan! You still there?
action;
But that was all theoretical. Right now, Fuuka is more absorbed in settling her things; when she hears Minako's voice, she's quick to come out.]
I'm here! [She practically bursts out of the screen door, looking a little... headache-inducing... in her orange shirt and jean shorts. The orange doesn't do favors for her blue hair, and her legs are pale from lack of sun. She looks... basically awkward.]
action;
Maybe senpai would notice her.]S-so am I! [She giggles, leading Fuuka into the hallway.] Figure out what you want to eat? I'll show you where the dining hall is.
[She starts walking, not waiting very long before asking Fuuka questions. Better Minako ask than Fuuka, she figures. At least for now, to ease her in.] Did you run into Ryoji-kun?
