001 | Video/Action

[Worick has been around long enough to make note of people making broadcasts via their-actually quite stylish-necklaces. The first time had been a surprise, but by the third time he witnessed it, he caught on and paid special attention to how the necklace worked. He wouldn't want everyone's first impression of him to be of one who is technologically impaired.

So once he's certain he knows the ins and outs of the necklace's capabilities, he'll make a little broadcast of his own. The visual given is of a man with long hair and an eye patch. He has a particularly large smile on his face for someone who has just been abducted by Gods.]

If I didn't know better I'd think this is all just a very vivid hallucination fueled by intense amounts of alcohol. Which is strange because I know for a fact that I didn't get to drink a drop last night. I'm also pretty use not even my subconscious mind would come up with something as hideous as this camp uniform. [A hint of orange comes and goes from view at Worick plucks petulantly at his shirt.]

Is there a handbook or something for new comers like me? I can't say I really know this camp thing is supposed to work. Names Worick by the way. It's nice to meet you all.

[Action]

[After the broadcast Worick can be found standing outside Cabin Hermes. If he had any cigarettes he would definitely be having a smoke. But seeing as he doesn't he's making himself content with people watching. If his eye happens to linger a moment or two on men with dark hair and ladies with dark skin, well...one can hope his isn't the only familiar face hanging around.]

Well, I suppose I should start by asking whether you've been claimed by your parent yet. I learned a bit of Greek mythology when I was younger, so I ought to be able to tell you something. Though whether or not it's something you already knew is probably a different matter.

Usually your parent's symbol will turn up. Floating over your head seems to be common - I know one of my siblings and I both got that one. Athena seems to claim her children fairly quickly, usually. I'm not surprised my father didn't; I would expect Hermes is a rather busy god.

But you're right, generally you'd notice it. They're gods; they're not exactly subtle most of the time.

Be careful what you wish for - you might just get claimed by Hermes, or one of the gods who aren't Olympians, and then you'd be stuck with us forever.

It can't be worse than living with Mr. Grindle, anyway. Though at least he was a good cook.

Mm, I suppose it's not bad. Better than I would have expected from food at a camp, anyway.

Well, I'm assuming camp food would normally be like boarding school food, which I'm told is generally awful. I think magic may be involved in the cooking here, but I think I can live with that.

I'm sorry, I'm babbling a little.

Well, more or less magic. Some sort of godly powers or abilities of what I would have called mythical creatures. I haven't met the cook, I'm not sure who or what they are.

Anyway, yes, it's very good. I'm wondering just what sort of limits there are on what you can get out of the goblets we get at dinner - they apparently fill up with any drink you ask for, but I'm wondering just what they can generate.

Well, I don't know about the extent of the power being used... though I think Mr. D. is probably involved somewhere.

I don't even mean besides just liquids - there are all sorts of liquids you wouldn't normally think of as 'drinks'. I'm an alchemist, and, well, there is the idea of a goblet essentially providing infinite supplies.

Considering the effort they put in to get us, I doubt they'd lose us to something so trivial.

I don't know... one hears stories. Being eaten by monsters would at least be quick. Starvation isn't.

I'm sorry, this is awfully morbid so soon after you've arrived. Any other questions?

Don't mention it. I'm glad to help, Worick.
