[Well… that method definitely wasn’t Akihiko’s preferred way to break the news gently to the rest of the camp. Now, to deal with the aftermath…]
Don’t worry, everyone. We’re not gonna throw in the towel without a fight. We’ve got this.
[He falls quiet for a minute, contemplating, and then tries his best to display a reassuring smile to the network.]
Hey, what do you guys like to do for fun? There’s a bunch of clubs in my school, and those are great for teambuilding and meeting new people.
So, I was thinking… Why don’t we start up some clubs right here? Like swimming, archery, boxing, or anything else you’re into! There can even be a book club, if sports aren’t your thing. Maintaining mental strength is important too.
[Though he can’t help quipping next with some personal bias.]
Of course, we can’t let up with our training, especially now, so make sure you guys find a good balance between the two, okay?

[Sage nod.] Yes, definitely. It's a supplement that you take at different times, depending on the type. If you wanna get it right from the source, aside from meat, there's also protein in soybeans, eggs, rice, peas, and a bunch of other food.
[For the love of God, Ryoji, do not let Akihiko drone on and on about protein and bodybuilding and exercise and all that other stuff. He's going to start telling you how protein is used biologically if you don't stop him.]
Well, you're definitely smaller than me. I'm pretty sure you're smaller than Junpei too. Then again, he's kinda tall for a junior, I guess. Who's taller between you and Minato?

[And Ryoji... lets him continue his rambling. Honestly, it's a little interesting to him, when he knows basically nothing about the world compared to others.]
Oh! Those foods are pretty good. So if I eat enough of them, I'm sure I'll get a good amount of protein.
Well, if I remember measuring correctly, I'm about the same height as Junpei, almost. I'm just a little taller than Minato.

[There's that word again: happiness. Minako told him that too. Akihiko's brows furrow with a bit of confusion. His own happiness isn't something he's given a lot of thought to. He's far too used to taking care of other people to be concerned about himself.

Yes, you will. And you'll need it, for all the aerobic exercises we'll be doing. Protein's very important, not only for growth and development, but daily function too. When they're broken down during digestion, they provide amino acids for your body.
[He pauses in thought. He has met Ryoji just that one time in person, and had noticed his physique, but...]
Hmm... Maybe not height, then. But you can definitely improve your muscle mass.

[That's understandable. Ryoji would tell him to stop putting everyone ahead of himself, but that would be rather hypocritical of him. For now, he'll just stay quiet.]
So what kind of exercises will we try? And... what do amino acids do? I don't think we learned about them in class.
Well, I'll do my best to get stronger. Maybe I will start building up muscles!

...Who am I even supposed to go out with, anyway? We can't do very much here, in that context. There are so many other people around, all the time...
I'm gonna work on developing a training regime for you. Running and stretching are really simple, so we can start with those, and work our way up.
[Watch him sound like Mitsuru now.]
Amino acids are organic compounds made out of carbon, hydrogen, oxygen, and nitrogen molecules. You know those elements, right? They're pretty much the foundation of the human body. Anyway, you can get energy from amino acids, which you need for basic function, and much more.
[Akihiko grins.] That's the spirit! Keep at it, and you'll definitely get stronger! When do you wanna start?

Even then, there are lots of girls to talk to! I'm sure you'll find someone you're interested in eventually!
I see. It makes a lot of sense to build up the exercises slowly.
[Wow. A lot of that went over his head, but he at least can understand that amino acids are important.
He smiles back easily.]
As soon as we can! Whenever you're not busy, honestly. Maybe the day after tomorrow?

...Maybe. [He doubts it, and that shows on his face, as well as in his tone.] We'll see.
[Akihiko has done a lot of studying on the human body, for obvious purposes... He's like a crack addict.]
All right, then! Do you know where Cabin 1 is? We can meet here, and run a path through the rest of the cabins. Morning or evening's the best time to go, so your body doesn't dehydrate too fast.

That sounds like a good idea! Is the morning okay?
[He's usually up pretty early. Even if he needs more sleep as an actual human now, he hasn't completely combated his insomnia problems.]
